Tuesday, 29 April 2014: One Day Without Shoes @ Skypark, SM Aura

We walked barefoot for our third year in a row at TOMS Philippines’ annual event to raise awareness about the importance of shoes for children.

Being the first ones to register, we were able to get special freebies which were only available for the first 50. While we were chilling under a tent, a band in front was having their sound check. The vocalist looked extremely familiar. So after, I finally had the guts to come up to her and ask if she was who I thought she was… And thank goodness it was her! It was Jess Connelly of Sinyma!! Ya such a beauty, Jess!

There were new and more booths compared to the past events such as the free popcorn & snow cone stands, make your own looms bracelet, and the shop where you could buy your own pair of shoes and sun glasses on the spot! And of course, the always present photo booth and face paint booth (I honestly miss the temporary tattoos! Huhu maybe next year..)!

After we walked around barefoot, we learned a lot from watching a heartwarming documentary entitled As We Walk by filmmaker Joy Aquino where it shows TOMS’ One for One advocacy.

Next to it, band performances started with Kai Honasan, Robin Nivera, and Hidden Nikki.

This was so far the best ODWS event that I have attended. Thank you TOMS Philippines! See you around again next year!
